Our city centre has magnificent heritage stories to tell. We want to capitalise on the heritage significance of the Auckland CBD and to use this as a means of establishing an identity for the area. We undertake a range of projects to help celebrate and provide greater certainty for the heritage in our city centre.
Auckland Heritage Festival is held in spring each year.
Lighting of Heritage Buildings
Lighting heritage buildings is a way of profiling our wonderful heritage in downtown Auckland. We have lit the following heritage buildings in Auckland's city centre.
Blacketts Building (86 - 92 Queen Street)
Landmark House (187-189 Queen Street)
Imperial Building (44-48 Queen Street)
In partnership with the former Auckland City Council, we have published self guide Heritage Walks to allow people to experience the wonderful heritage values of the city centre. Hard copy booklets are also available from the Heart of the City offices. Contact us to find out more.
