News story
Wednesday 18 Dec 2013

Heart of the City is celebrating Christmas this year with a series of lunchtime pop-up carnivals with live performance, DJs and food trucks taking place in public squares and shared spaces throughout the city. Acts performing as part of the event include King Kapisi & Che Fu, 50/50 Dance Crew, Sal Valentine, Nick D and many others. We’re announcing each day’s line-up 48 hours in advance, so stay posted to www.heartofthecity.co.nz/christmas or the Heart of the City facebook page for updates.

The carnival has popped up in St Patrick’s Square, Karanga Plaza, City Works Depot, Takutai Square and Lorne Street already, and between now and Christmas you’ll see it taking place in Waitemata Plaza, Queens Wharf, Jean Batten Place, Darby Street, Elliott Street, Freyberg Square and QEII Square.

The 12 Days of Christmas Carnivals taking place in shared spaces have associated road closures – if your business is in the vicinity of Jean Batten Place, Darby Street or Elliott Street and you have not received a consultation notice or information about the event, please contact us for more information.
