International Busking Festival 27-30 January

News story
Thursday 26 Jan 2017

The International Buskers Festival attracts top notch street performers from all over the world. Acts are located near city centre transportation hubs and puts a welcoming face to the city in summer. But did you know that busking outside the dates of the International Busking Festival is regulated?

Performers must obtain a license from Council to perform in a public place. Depending on the performance, some of the acts are confined to specific places. Quiet acts can be done throughout the day but acts with music or amplified noise have certain restrictions. Some public areas are off limits and performances have time limits. Performers cannot approach individuals for soliciting and they should ensure that they leave their spot tidy. If you have any questions about busking, call Council on 301 0101 or email them.
