Local artists have coloured the walls with graffiti and a large garage door entrance glows out from the brick building, welcoming you in with its warm glow. The sound of music and chatter of jostling theatre goers woos you in to the space and you arrive never quite knowing what you’re going to get.
That is the beauty of Basement Theatre. It is that unique space where emerging artists and creatives get to test their new ideas in the realms of theatre, visual arts, music and dance. The wonder of this is that you are often privy to discovering new talents in the theatre world long before others.
