Access Changes to Queen Street: Essential Vehicle Area (EVA) from 3 July
On Queen Street, between Wakefield and Wellesley Streets, an Essential Vehicle Area (EVA) will be in place from 3 July. This is part of the Wai Horoitiu Queen Street Project - read the latest newsletter here.
It will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It means that only certain vehicles can access this part of Queen Street. They are:
- Delivery vehicles
- Goods vehicles
- Utility vehicles
- Emergency service vehicles
This video explains the changes:
The EVA will be remotely monitored. For the first six weeks, those who incorrectly use the EVA will receive a warning letter. After this period, there will be a $150 infringement fee.
