Artworks brighten Aotea Station construction site

News story

Four works by local artists have been commissioned by Link Alliance to cover construction hoardings around the Aotea Station site, adding positive interest to the area and making it a more appealing place to be.

The works - by artists Deborah Crowe, Paris Kirby, Blink Boys and Jon Tootill - all bring colour to the area and many incorporate elements of the natural environment like foliage, flowers and animal life.

For Deborah Crowe's 'Urban Mesh', a key element of the digitally woven artwork is the significance of experiencing ‘green in the city’, and the positive impact that flora and plant life have on well-being, placemaking, and an enriched experience of space.
