News story
Friday 3 Jul 2009

Supporting our city's performing arts scene and ensuring that it remains vibrant is important to Aucklanders. Enabling this support, Auckland City Council's Arts Alive fund is currently open for applications from independent performing arts professionals.

With $350,000 available annually for art projects in the city, chairperson of the Arts, Culture and Recreation Committee, Councillor Greg Moyle, says: "Not only do we hope to build audiences, it helps to develop and maintain Auckland's performing arts infrastructure - including skills, resources, professional support and networks.

"Having an exciting and vibrant city that celebrates independent performing artists is essential."

Funding applications need to be received by 4.30pm, Monday, 20 July for projects taking place between October 2009 and May 2010.

For more information on the selection process, criteria and an application form, go to Grants and funding or call Auckland City Council.
