Make your office more environmentally friendly

News story

Small things such as switching your office rubbish bags to Oxo-Biodegradable plastic bags (such as The Green-One) can have a huge impact on the amount of plastic your office throws away each year. The Green-One rubbish bags are designed to begin breaking down in as little as 18 months, where a standard plastic bag takes over 50 years.
Once disposed of, The Green-One will degrade, then bio-degrade, on land or at sea, in the light or the dark, in heat or cold, within a pre-determined timeframe, leaving NO fragments, NO methane and no known harmful residues. The final biodegradation products are small amounts of H2O, CO2 and biomass and no methane gas is given off during oxo-biodegradation.
Although businesses in Auckland CBD will still have to use council-issued rubbish bags for their curb-side collection, using The Green-One rubbish bags around the office for smaller rubbish bins is ideal.
It is encouraged to reuse and recycle the plastic bags as often as possible before disposing of it where it will begin to degrade (break into small pieces) usually after 18 months (the typical useful life for this type of product). The Green-One will then biodegrade in the second stage over the following months in the presence of UV light and or heat plus oxygen.
Such an easy way to reduce the plastic waste in your office.
