News story
Wednesday 24 Jun 2009
A massive redevelopment of Queens Wharf as part of a re-vamp of Aucklands Waterfront was announced by John Key at the recent TRENZ conference held in Auckland. The Government, along with the Auckland Regional Council, have both forked out $20million each to buy the wharf from the Ports of Auckland and expect to spend a further $84million of taxpayers money to create "party central"; the live site for the upcoming Rugby World Cup in 2011 and the refurbishment of the existing heritage sheds for a temporary cruise ship terminal.
