Ciclovia on Quay

Auckland Council, in partnership with Auckland Transport and Waterfront Auckland will be delivering a free public event along Auckland’s waterfront including Quay Street on Saturday 8th
February 2014. Ciclovía (si-kli-vi-a) is a Spanish word which symbolises a global initiative to reclaim city streets, for a moment in time, for people on foot, bikes, scooters and skates. As part of Auckland’s vision to
become the world’s most liveable city, Ciclovia on Quay will enable the public to stroll or ride in car-free space from Britomart through to Silo Park in Wynyard Quarter, while enjoying a variety of activities and entertainment along the way. This event is an alcohol-free bike-friendly family event that we hope to use the event to inform longer-term plans on the transformation of Auckland’s harbour edge into a people-friendly worldclass
destination.
