CBD RWC Theming and Visual Merchandise

Throughout New Zealand this September, a festival atmosphere will greet Rugby World Cup 2011 (RWC 2011) visitors. New Zealand’s nationwide regional banner programme will contribute to this atmosphere with street light pole banners decorating roads from the top of the North Island to the bottom of the South.

Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development is delivering Auckland’s RWC 2011 regional banner programme, which consists of over 4,000 street light banners throughout the region. The Tournament Organiser, Rugby New Zealand 2011 Limited, has provided the artwork for the programme and Auckland’s own destination brand will feature prominently.

Banners in the CBD will be installed from 8 August and will remain in place until 31 October 2011.

Banners will be featured in the following CBD streets

Westhaven, Te Wero Island, Promenade, Waitemata Plaza, Halsey Street, Jellicoe, Beaumont Street, Queen Street, Customs Street, Quay Street, Fanshawe Street, Victoria Street, Nelson Street, Hobson Street, Shortland Street, Albert Street, Wellesley Street, Mayoral Drive, Wakefield Street, Kitchener Street, Greys Ave and Aotea Square.
