Making the CBD a welcoming and safe place during RWC

News story
Tuesday 9 Aug 2011

Auckland Council and Heart of the City’s City Watch Security Team will be increasing their presence in the CBD during the Tournament. The team is responsible for making the city a safer and more welcoming place by moving on beggars, unpermitted busking and outdoor trading.

They will also work in partnership with the NZ Police about disorderly behaviour and report illegal rubbish dumping in the street.

Patrols will be running 7 days a week. If you need to report something to the City Watch team then please call Auckland Council on (09) 301 0101 so a job can be logged and a guard sent out. For more serious crime call the Downtown Police station on 379 4500 or 111 if an emergency.
